Pictures of the New Ercoupe on the Outside
by Bill ~ September 17th, 2008. Filed under: Buying an Ercoupe, Pictures. The pictures below are of the Ercoupe on the day I first saw it. Not too shabby for an airplane a little bit older than I am. I was impressed enough to make an offer that the seller accepted. Of course, you can “click” the pictures to see a larger image.
OK, that’s me taking a look in the cockpit. Now we can take a walk around the airplane.
Note that the cowl is open a bit – we had opened it to view the engine compartment.
Only 75 horses of Continental Engine power are needed to get this aircraft into the sky.
The Ercoupe in profile – as seen from the left (port) side.
The tail feathers direct the plane up down and left right. This part of the aircraft is better known as the empenage, which contains the elevator and the rudders.
The Ercoupe’s long sleek fuselage looks like it goes on forever. yet the aircraft is only about 20 feet long, 30 feet wide and about 6 1/2 feet high.
