			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>So, why would one decide to attain a Sport Pilot Certificate instead of training to be a full Private Pilot? Basically because of the difference in training, as follows:</p>

<p align="left">There are less training requirements for a Sport Pilot Certificate than a Private Pilot Certificate</p>
</li>
<li>
<p align="left">It generally costs less because there is less required flight experience time.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p align="left">You must be in good health, but can self-certify by having a valid state driver&#8217;s license, and do not need to obtain a 3rd Class FAA medical exam.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p align="left">If your intended goal is to be a recreational pilot flying during the day, in small planes, and only carrying one passenger, the Sport &#8220;ticket&#8221; will get you there.</p>

</ul>
<p>Note that there is no less emphasis on safety. The Sport Pilot Certificate just limits the pilot&#8217;s ability to fly under adverse and/or more challenging conditions. </span></p>
